The Student Judicial Council is a creation of Section 5 (a)(b) of the AAUA SU Constitution. The Judicial Powers of the Student Union of Adekunle Ajasin University is vested in the Students’ Judicial Council, hence the Student Judicial Council is the Adjudicatory Body of the Student’s Union.
According to Section 5b(ii), he Power to interpret the AAUA SU Constitution is vested in the AAUA Student Judicial Council and no other court in the University has Such powers. Also, In accordance to Section 5b(ii) of the AAUA SU Constitution, the SJC has the responsibility of protecting the civil rights and obligations of all Students and affiliated bodies of the Student Union on Campus. According to section 5b(iii) of the AAUA SU Constitution, The SJC is vested with the power to adjudicate on matters between students, arms of the union , affiliated bodies, any member of the union.
Judgement delivered by the SJC is not without weight and it is Binding as it is backed by the School Management through the Student’s Affairs division of the school. According to Section 5b (iv) of the AAUA SU Constitution, “the Judgment of the SJC shall be binding on all members of the union, arms of the union and all parties thereto”

Powers of the SJC
According to Section 5 (a) of the AAUA SU Constitution “the Judicial power of the union shall be vested in the Students’ Judicial Council hereinafter referred to as the SJC…”
